WE ARE BETTER AS FRIENDS: JENNIFER LOPEZ AND ALEX RODRIGUEZ CONFIRM THEIR BREAKDOWN
The rumor had been around for weeks. Even some media dared to break the news without either of them saying anything about it. And for once, it was true: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have decided to end their relationship.
This has just been confirmed by both in a joint statement published in Today in which, without going into explaining the reasons that led them to make this decision, they clarify the current state of their relationship.
“We have realized that we are better being friends, so we hope to continue being friends in the future. For now we are going to continue working together, supporting each other in everything and sharing our businesses and our projects ”, Jennifer and Alex declare, implying that their breakup has been by mutual agreement and in a friendly manner.
“We wish each other the best and also our respective children. In fact, out of respect for them, the only thing we are going to comment on is to say thanks to all of you who have sent us your kind words of support ”, they conclude.
We were thus without what promised to be one of the weddings of the decade. The one that both announced with great fanfare after the athlete asked the singer to marry during a romantic sunset that we all saw on their social networks and that, due to the coronavirus, they had to delay until the current health situation allowed them celebrate their union with the corresponding party.
Of course, the fact that they could not say yes I want immediately did not prevent them from living a custom idyll. Although they were not officially husband and wife, both lived together and in the company of the children they had from previous relationships.
In fact, they passed the most difficult test as a family: living together throughout the confinement. Although judging by the videos that both of them uploaded to their social networks during those days from JLo's impressive mansion with a swimming pool in Miami, they had plenty of space to enjoy moments of solitude when the body asked for it and thus avoid any conflict fruit of the forced confinement.
The last time the couple was seen in public was during the inauguration of Joe Biden's mandate last January, where in addition to singing Jennifer Lopez in honor of the new president, the couple took the opportunity to take a spectacular photo session as a couple in the stairs of the Capitol. Images that did not at all presage that today, only three months later, we would be writing these words about their breakup. But that's life.
