Lindsay Lohan secretly marries financier Bader Shammas

Break the glass, throw away the rice, buy something from the wedding list. Congratulations, Lindsay Lohan and Bader Shammas, who have now joined in holy matrimony.

As reported by PageSix on Saturday, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony just hours before the Mean Girls star's 36th birthday. A spokesman confirmed it to the portal: "Lindsay Lohan has married."

Lohan announced her new relationship status on Friday night when she posted a picture of her and her significant other smiling at her on Instagram. In her caption, she said, “I am the luckiest woman in the world. You found me and you knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time. I'm blown away that you're my husband. My life and my everything.”

With heart emojis, she added: "Every woman should feel like this every day." Lohan's younger sister, Dakota, has been one of the many influencers who have written comments congratulating the couple.

Lindsay first showed off her engagement ring in late November of last year. At the time she referred to Shammas with the Gertrude Stein-esque caption: “My love. My life. My family. My future." The actress met the Kuwaiti-born financier in Dubai. Although Lohan tags him on Instagram, his account remains private. The 35-year-old was educated at the University of Tampa and the University of South Florida, where he studied mechanical engineering and finance.

In a conversation with Extra in February, Lohan made it clear that her wedding would be quiet and that she would not be a bridezilla.

"I'm more discreet," she said. “Even on my birthday, I want to make sure everyone else is okay. And then I can be fine. So, I'll be more like that. I'm looking at destinations. I've already started talking to a friend about the dress. But I want to do things well and I want to control the rhythm of everything.”

It's been a few years since Lohan's last appearance in a mainstream movie or TV show. Earlier this year he turned heads in a modest Super Bowl ad co-starring Dennis Rodman, William Shatner and Danny Trejo, and with George Baker Selection's Little Green Bag, part of the Tarantino movie Reservoir Dogs soundtrack. Something that will change in a few months with Lohan's return to romantic comedies in Netflix's highly anticipated Falling For Christmas.
